Quick question

Posted by Monkeydj - March 25th, 2024

Would you recommend me doing commissions?

My art isn't the best but recently I've been drawing a lot in my phone

In twitter I have like 25 followers (I believe like 7 of those are NSFW bots) and been wondering if people would like me to do art for them

The thing is, I don't draw too often and I normally put drawings aside and I never finish them (I have like 20 unfinished drawings) and my art isn't as good as other people's

Do you guys think people would pay me to draw?

I'd practice a bit more honestly, no offense

Don't worry, all criticism is valid

No, I would not expect anybody willing to pay you to draw for them - at least not right now. Maybe in 5 years or so. 3 years if you 'really' put a lot of time and effort into practicing your art. And even then, there is not a lot of money in art - be it drawing, composing music, game development, creating 3D models, writing, or anything else.

Do what you love 'as a hobby', but be aware that there is a lot of competition in 'passion jobs'. Terms such as 'staring/struggling artist' apply to most artists. If all those artists with decades of experience struggle to make a living, you should not be surprised that amateurs like yourself struggle to even get as much as 'attention'.

I draw when I'm bored and I feel inspired so I don't think I'll get that good in some years from now
Thanks for the criticism and recommendation

Take some time to practice more. You could start off with accepting FREE drawing requests. Then maybe if you find improvement in your art then you can try out comissions

That's a great idea
Thanks
